Manufacturing Process & Quality Control for ECG Electrodes
The manufacturing process of the CMAI ECG patch adheres to strict ISO 13485 medical device quality management standards, optimizing three vital production phases:
Precision Liquid Dispensing & Pre-Gelling
The electrical reliability of our electrodes starts with the uniform application of the conductive hydrogel over the Ag/AgCl electrode sensor. Advanced automated dispensing systems ensure exact volume control, preventing gel leakage or dry-outs, which guarantees a low AC impedance (≤ 3kΩ) consistently across all batches.
Continuous High-Speed Rotary Die-Cutting
Utilizing multi-station rotary die-cutting machinery, the non-woven or foam backing, sensor eyelets, and adhesive layers are laminated and cut with micron-level precision. This high-speed synchronization guarantees smooth edge sealing, which prevents rolling or lifting when applied to the patient's skin.
Biocompatibility & Environmental Stabilization
Every patch uses a strictly controlled medical PSA coating. After cutting, hydrogel ECG electrodes are immediately sealed in vapor-barrier aluminum foil pouches. This environmental optimization prevents moisture loss in the hydrogel, maintaining optimal tackiness and conductivity until the point of care.
Clinical Usage Guidelines & Contraindications
Indications for Use
Ensure the skin is clean, dry, and free of excessive hair before application. For long-term monitoring, electrodes should be replaced according to clinical protocol to maintain signal quality and skin comfort.
Contraindications
Do not apply on broken, inflamed, or infected skin. Avoid use in patients with known hypersensitivity to adhesive materials or foam-based substrates.
Storage Conditions
Store in a cool, dry environment away from heat and humidity. Once opened, use immediately to maintain hydrogel performance and adhesion stability.
